Rules:
The competition is open to young pianists of all nationalities who will compete in two age sections:
- Junior section for pianists up to 13 years old (born after 1 March 2003)
- Senior section for pianists up to 18 years old (born after 1 March 1998)
Pianists aged 13 may also enter the Senior section.
The Jury's evaluation of each competitor will be published after each round, including the qualifying round. Points earned by the participants in three public rounds are added up and prizes will be awarded taking into account the ranking throughout the entire Competition. In case of equal ranking of several participants, the Jury will make a final decision after a discussion.

Application:
The application form along with supporting documents must be submitted by November 1, 2015.The applicant is also required to pay a non-refundable entrance fee of 50 Euros.
Background:
Krainev International Competition was founded by renowned pianist Vladimir Krainev (1944-2011) in his native town Kharkov in Ukraine in 1992. In over 20 years of existence it attracted many talented children from all Europe and Asian countries, who later demonstrated their excellence winning the most prestigious competitions and making a distinguished international career.
In 2014 under the artistic direction of Alexander Romanovsky the competition featured a number of unique aspects such as transparent voting system, while established relations with prestigious conservatoires, concert agencies and festivals will play an active part in creating a solid foundation for the professional future of the competitors. Unforgettable concerts, master classes and meetings involving talented youths in the presence of outstanding musicians will be both inspiring and motivating for the young artists.Last updated: 06.04.2017

Senior group – from 17 to 25 years of age
1st prize – the Golden Violin – 10000 PLN
2nd prize – the Silver Violin – 7000 PLN
3rd prize – the Bronze Violin – 4000 PLN
4th prize – the Bronze Violin – 3000 PLN
5th prize – the Bronze Violin – 2000 PLN
Apart from the prizes stipulated in the regulations, private persons and institutions may award other prizes.
