Music Education Academy 2017

10.02.2017

The third Edition of Music Education Academy will take place at the Philharmonie Luxembourg, on 30th of March.

«The stated aim of the MEA was to provide high level input and training that would inspire and enable orchestral musicians to engage positively with music education programmes. In fact, the first edition of the programme achieved far more; with the participants reporting that their whole outlook on the role of the musician had been broadened, with many personal revelations of confidence, and a real explosion of creative energy directed towards not just music education, but also the wider questions of concert planning, presentation, context and artistic evolution.» -- Katherine Zeserson

The following experts will contribute to the Music Education Academy 2017: Peter Garden (Executive Director - Performance and Learning, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic), Renee Jonker (Head of the Master New Audiences and Innovative Practice at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague), Dr. Jessica Pitt (Early Childhood Music Educator and Researcher) and Dr. Constanze Wimmer (Director of the Master «Music Pedagogy – Music in context» at Anton Bruckner Privatuniversität in Linz and Researcher and Projectmanager for Education).

The Music Education Academy (MEA) is a high-level training seminar for emerging talented musicians based in Luxembourg or any other European country and aims at developing knowledge and practical skills in music education. The intense 6-day training platform will take place in Luxembourg and is initiated and organized by the Philharmonie Luxembourg.
